The 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport Making Its Debut
Volkswagen is using the 2020 model year to significantly bolster its SUV offerings, and it all starts with the debut of the all-new 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport lineup.
This debuting midsize Atlas Cross Sport lineup seats five and features all the interior passenger and cargo space you need for your daily commutes, errand runs, weekend adventures, and family road trips. It also gives you the choice between two impressively fun to drive engines and boasts an equally impressive array of advanced new safety, technology, comfort and convenience features a list which includes the newly available Traffic Jam Assist system and the newly available Dynamic Road Sign Display system. Furthermore, the 2020 VW Atlas Cross Sport lineup will feature no less than eight trim levels: S, SE, SE w/Tech, SE w/Tech R-Line, SEL, SEL R-Line, SEL Premium, and SEL Premium R-Line. The R-Line is the meanest looking of the bunch, thanks to the heavily modified bumpers, lower front air scoops, and 21-inch aluminum-alloy wheels.
The Atlas Cross Sport is marked by an extremely powerful exterior that is further accentuated by a two-bar grille, with updated Volkswagen logo that was recently re-designed. Even the lights are featured prominently in the radiator grille, and continue to be a key feature to the overall design. Furthermore, this concept is sleek, and features C-pillars, along with short front and rear overhangs. Even the roof spoiler is distinctive with its black side fins. One thing that really stands out is the wide flared wheel arches that further push the Atlas Cross Sport into a vehicle that has a presence. The entire design of this vehicle is sleek and powerful, perfect for capturing attention, and then maintaining it.
The 2020 Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport lineup gives you the choice between a four-cylinder turbocharged engine and a V6 engine. The turbocharged four-cylinder engine pumps out 235 horsepower, whereas the V6 engine pumps out 276 horsepower. No matter which engine you choose, you’re also getting an 8-speed automatic transmission and available 4Motion all-wheel-drive. However, only the V6 engine can be paired with the V6 Towing Package to allow you to tow up to 5,000 pounds.
Once you get inside your new 2020 VW Atlas Cross Sport, you’ll get to enjoy one of the most comfortable automotive interiors ever engineered – one with 111.8 cubic-feet of passenger space and up to 77.8 cubic-feet of total cargo space. One of the most advanced features of the car is the Volkswagen Car-Net suite that allows, among other things, the use of a mobile app to control some of the car’s systems. Using just the phone, owners could remote start and stop the car, honk the horn, or flash the lights.
