Volkswagen of America has officially unveiled its 2026 model year lineup, bringing performance enhancements, technology updates, and refined styling across nearly every vehicle in its range. While the 2026 Volkswagen models have not yet arrived at Bismarck Motor Company, we’re already looking forward to helping you explore everything these new vehicles have to offer.

2026 Volkswagen Tiguan: Now More Powerful Than Ever

The biggest highlight of the 2026 lineup is the third-generation Tiguan, which launched as an all-new model in 2025. For 2026, the top trim—SEL R-Line Turbo—introduces a new 268-horsepower 2.0-liter turbocharged engine, giving the compact SUV a more athletic edge than ever before. All trims, including S, SE, and SE R-Line Black, receive updated driver-assistance features like Assisted Lane Change with Travel Assist, making everyday driving smarter and more confident.

Refreshed and Refined: Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport

Following a major refresh for the 2024 model year, the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport continue into 2026 with the same elegant interior upgrades and a capable turbocharged engine. New for 2026, SE w/ Technology trims and above now include a factory-installed HomeLink® mirror.

2026 ID.4: Electric, Upgraded, and More Capable

Volkswagen’s popular all-electric SUV, the ID.4, carries over its significant 2024 upgrades into the 2026 model year. Offering up to 291 miles of EPA-estimated range, an updated infotainment system, and increased power (up to 335 horsepower on AWD models), the ID.4 continues to set the standard for accessible electric mobility.

Five trims are expected for 2026:

• Entry (Pro, AWD Pro)

• S (Pro S, AWD Pro S)

• S Plus (AWD Pro S Plus), which now includes a HomeLink® mirror

A mid-model-year update is also expected to introduce additional features.

Golf GTI & Golf R: Performance Icons Continue

Volkswagen’s hot hatch lineup remains a favorite for performance enthusiasts. The 2026 Golf GTI is available in S, SE, and Autobahn trims, while the Golf R now features a new exterior color (Graphite Gray Metallic) and the option for a Euro Style Package. The GTI and R both received performance and tech updates just last year, making them as sharp as ever.

2026 Jetta & Jetta GLI: Value Meets Refinement

Volkswagen’s entry-level sedans received a facelift in 2025 and return for 2026 with thoughtful updates. New standard features include rear-seat pretensioners across all trims and a standard sunroof on SE models. The GLI Autobahn adds premium audio and enhanced steering wheel controls for a sportier feel.

Taos: Compact SUV, Big Personality

The 2026 Taos follows its 2025 refresh with a streamlined trim lineup—S, SE, SE Black, and SEL. Standard safety features are enhanced with rear-seat pretensioners, and wireless charging improves to 15w during a mid-model-year update. SEL models gain an eight-speaker premium audio system for an upgraded listening experience.

ID. Buzz: More to Come

After its highly anticipated debut in 2025, the electric ID. Buzz returns for 2026. While details are still to come, this modern take on the Microbus continues to blend retro styling with electric innovation. Stay tuned for more updates later this year.
