New Lifted Suspension, Tougher Styling and More Off-Road Capability

Honda has reengineered the Passport TrailSport for 2027 with increased ground clearance, improved off-road angles, tougher styling and additional standard features.

The 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport and TrailSport Elite are scheduled to begin arriving at dealerships later this month, bringing new capability to one of Honda’s most adventure-ready SUVs.

More Ground Clearance for Greater Off-Road Capability

One of the biggest updates for the 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport is its redesigned suspension.

The Passport TrailSport now has 9.65 inches of ground clearance, an increase of 1.38 inches compared with the 2026 model. That extra clearance helps the SUV handle uneven terrain while improving its approach, departure and breakover angles.

For 2027, the Passport TrailSport offers:

• 9.65 inches of ground clearance
• 25-degree approach angle
• 25-degree departure angle
• 23-degree breakover angle

Compared with the 2026 Passport TrailSport, that’s an increase of 1.38 inches of ground clearance, 2 degrees in approach angle, 2 degrees in departure angle and 3 degrees in breakover angle.

Honda says the 2027 Passport TrailSport has the greatest off-road capability of any Honda SUV ever built.

A Completely Reengineered Suspension

Honda didn’t simply raise the Passport and call it a day. Engineers extensively redesigned the TrailSport’s suspension system to accommodate the increased ride height while maintaining confident on-road handling.

Nearly 70% of the major suspension components were redesigned, including the springs, dampers, control arms, stabilizer bars and knuckles. Honda also redesigned the front driveshafts and front subframe to support the increased ride height and wheel travel.

In total, 28 suspension and related chassis components are redesigned, reengineered or new for the 2027 Passport TrailSport.

The result is an SUV designed to provide more capability when the pavement ends while remaining enjoyable to drive during everyday trips around town.

TrailWatch™ Camera System Is Now Standard

Off-road driving can make it difficult to see what’s directly in front of or beside your vehicle. That’s where the TrailWatch™ camera system comes in.

For 2027, TrailWatch™ is now standard on all Passport TrailSport trims. The system provides four camera views:

• Front
• Rear
• Side
• 360-degree

It also includes tire-placement graphics designed to help drivers navigate obstacles and challenging terrain, including deep ruts, blind crests and trail edges.

Previously available exclusively on the TrailSport Elite, TrailWatch™ gives more Passport TrailSport drivers additional visibility when tackling the trail.

Tougher Styling for 2027

The 2027 Honda Passport TrailSport also gets a more rugged appearance to match its increased capability.

Updates include:

• More pronounced front and rear fender flares
• A resculpted lower front fascia
• New amber LED hood scoop lights
• Amber daytime running lights
• Available Blackout Package
• New black lower skid garnishes
• Black 18-inch alloy wheels and Honda badges with the Blackout Package

Honda is also adding Smoke Blue Pearl to the Passport color lineup, replacing Obsidian Blue Pearl.

Inside, every Passport TrailSport now comes standard with a heated steering wheel, a feature that was previously exclusive to the TrailSport Elite.

The Honda Trail Experience App

Honda is also giving TrailSport owners another way to enhance their off-road adventures with the Honda Trail Experience (HTX) app.

Available as a free download for iPhone users, the app provides real-time vehicle and trail information, including elevation, pitch, roll, brake pressure, throttle position, speed, engine temperature, outside temperature, tire angle and GPS information.

The app can also capture photos and videos with trail data overlays, making it easier to document and share your adventures.

Built in America

The 2027 Honda Passport and Passport TrailSport are built exclusively at the Honda Alabama Auto Plant in Lincoln, Alabama, using domestic and globally sourced parts.

The 3.5-liter V6 engine powering the 2027 Passport is also produced at Honda’s engine facility within the Alabama plant.
