Company History

In July 2011 Bismarck Motor Company joined the Rydell Group, a Dealer Group based out of Grand Forks, North Dakota. We currently have 50+ locations, with over 100 franchises and 2000 employees. We have dealerships in Wisconsin, Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, Wyoming, Arizona and California.

 

The Rydell Group is recognized as being the largest dealer group in the U.S. that operates under a common philosophy, not ownership. What this means is every Rydell Dealership is independently owned while using the same philosophy which was explained earlier, in operating our business.

 

Our parent company was founded by Leonard Rydell who started in the car business in the 1940's in Montgomery, Minnesota and later moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota. Along with his love for hunting, fishing, and flying Leonard was actively involved with the Rydell Group along with his son Wes. Leonard passed away in April 2000 at the age of 86. Wes Rydell has been involved in the automotive industry since the early 1960's. Wes has won many awards for his efforts and has filled the position of President of the Chevrolet National Dealer Council.

 

The uniqueness of our organization really is in the way we continue to grow our dealer group. Our vision statement truly supports what our organization is all about.

Our customers have told us that the most unpleasant part of buying a vehicle is negotiating. With that in mind we at Bismarck Motor Company have decided to give our customers our Best Price up front and in writing. Every vehicle on our lot has our Best Price clearly hanging in the window. Along with that when we appraise your vehicle, what we appraise it for is the amount we will write you a check for, the actual cash value. Whether you buy from Bismarck Motor Company or not. The value of your trade will not change based on the vehicle you select.

 

Our daily business practice is to provide to our customers a great selection of new and used vehicles while giving them the absolute lowest selling price up from and in writing on every vehicle on our lot. We will not inflate the selling price of our vehicles to mislead you in what the true current market value is of your trade-in. We believe the customer really wants to be treated with honesty and integrity throughout the vehicle purchasing process. Simply put, you'll get your  Best Price on every vehicle and the actual cash value for your trade-in.

 

We continue this Best Price policy with our Vehicle Accessories Department and our Business Office where we provide our customers with accessories, financing, insurance and extended service contract needs.
